Pelham Medical Group is delighted to announce its latest success in achieving the Gold standard for Investors in People.
We are especially proud to be the first General Practice in the Yorkshire and Humber region to achieve this.
There are approximately 21,000 organisations nationally recognised with the Investors in People standard, but only 293 organisations have achieved the Gold standard.
Quote from Investors in People
“Gold represents achievement of world class best practice. It shows a truly cutting-edge organisation is operating at the very highest levels of people management practice using Investors in People to drive the business forward. Only the top 1% or Investors in People organisations nationally achieve Gold recognition . Pelham Medical Group is one of the first 37 organisations working with idg in Yorkshire and Humber to achieve Gold (as at 16.08.11)”
Quote from Yvonne Waddingham, Practice Manager
“The Practice is committed to providing quality in all aspects of its business. It is important that our business keeps on evolving and changing within these difficult and challenging times. We have recently been through a restructuring of our workforce to ensure we are best placed to move the organisation forward. Investing in our greatest asset, our staff, means that we can do the most important thing and provide good quality patient care. It is satisfying to know that the achievement of Gold standard investors in people endorses the recognition of the significant investment in our workforce. A workforce of which, the Partners’ are very proud”.
Quote from Vicky Donner, Practice IIP Co-ordinator
"The process itself was about evidencing that we have a business strategy in place to improve the performance of our organisation and that we provide learning & development to our staff and that we have people and leadership management strategies in place to ensure we can achieve our business objectives.
We also had to provide evidence of having an effective management team to support our staff and that we involve, empower, recognise & reward our staff and that we promote and support continuous improvement and development.
The process involved 4 full days of interviewing various members of our staff including our GPs and management team. The staff enjoyed the interviews and found them beneficial, I think this process was a great way of improving communication as this gave staff an opportunity to be open and also a feeling of involvement.
For me personally the process has been a great learning curve and very beneficial as this is the first time I have been involved in co-ordinating an award for the Practice, and to achieve Gold standard gives me a great sense of achievement as a Manager."
