Important announcement for patients registered with Humberview Surgery
All GP practice services will from Humberview surgery will cease on 30th September 2022. Please see this letter for full details.
This only applies to patients registered at Humberview Surgery, Stirling Medical Centre, and does not affect patients registered with Pelham Medical Group at Church View Health Centre, Cartergate. It also does not affect the other GP practices who provide services from Stirling St Medical Care Centre.
Healthcare services at Humberview Surgery, Stirling Medical Centre, have been provided by Pelham Medical Group since 2012. At the time the contract was originally won by Pelham Medical, it was felt that we could make improvements in standards at Humberview, and we hoped to continue to grow the practice list and services offered. However, our circumstance, staffing structure and resources have changed and we are sorry to say the decision has been taken by the practice partners, not to re-apply for a further extension of the contract. This is due to the ongoing workload pressures, increases in patient demand (particularly since the Covid 19 pandemic), and an increasing reliance on locum doctors, due to difficulties in recruiting GPs. The decision to relinquish the contract was a difficult one, and while there is disappointment that plans to grow did not come to fruition, we are very proud of the improvements in care provision that have been achieved at Humberview during that time. Quality of care has always been important to the partners, and it is now felt necessary to refocus efforts on the service provided at Church View Health Centre.
The Humber and North Yorkshire Integrated Care Board (formerly North East Lincolnshire Clinical Commissioning Group) has agreed the date of cessation of services from Humberview Surgery is 30th September 2022 and confirmed that the practice patient list, of approximately 1,925 people, will be dispersed.
What next for patients registered at Humberview Surgery
List dispersal means patients will be asked to register at an alternative GP practice locally and will have up until 30th September to do so. Patients who have not voluntarily registered elsewhere by then will be allocated to another surgery. By the end of July 2022 all patients registered at Humberview Surgery, Stirling Medical Centre, Stirling Street will receive a letter from NHS England advising of what do next.
